Owner/Speech-Language Pathologist

Mary Burns, MS, CCC-SLP

Mary Burns, MS, CCC-SLP is medical speech-language pathologist and FEES endoscopist who provides mobile swallow studies to skilled nursing facilities across Oregon as well as private rehabilitation.

Mary received her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at Northern Arizona University, where she graduated with academic and clinical honors. Despite a history of interest in research, publishing and presenting her work, Mary’s true passion lies in her clinical work with the adult population. She has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education and holds specialized certifications in dysphagia treatment. Having experienced the roles of patient, caretaker, and therapist, Mary strives to integrate empathy, science, and person-centered care. Throughout her career she has been lucky to share these skills with over a thousand patients.

Mary serves on the board for Stroke Awareness Oregon, a local non-profit, where she leads the rehabilitation committee connecting local survivors with recovery resources. She teaches community education courses on stroke and Parkinson’s Disease. She enjoys writing for and presenting at local support groups, sharing specialized education through her blog, and acting as a consultant with other SLPs through the state.

Mary lives in Bend, Oregon with her husband and three dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors and competing in triathlons.
