Owner/Speech-Language Pathologist

Mary Burns, MS, CCC-SLP

As a nationally licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, Mary had the opportunity to work across a variety of medical settings early in her career. This solidified her passion for working with adults with swallowing or communication disorders. To best serve her patients she actively pursues each opportunity to expand her skills and education, especially in the field of dysphagia diagnosis and treatment. After completing hundreds of hours worth of continuing education in the field she has established herself as a leader in dysphagia management in Central Oregon.

Upon moving to Central Oregon in 2016, Mary sought to find the place where her interests and skills intersected with community needs. Mary believes that barriers such as distance or mobility should never prevent an individual from receiving the care needed. This was the spark for Overland Speech & Swallowing Rehabilitation. Bringing mobile FEES to Central Oregon is part of her ongoing efforts to provide the highest quality, evidence-based, treatment resources to the community.

Overland Speech & Swallowing Rehabilitation seeks to create meaningful community connections and chip away at barriers until all patient have access to the highest quality care when they need it most.

In her free time you can find Mary chasing her dogs down the trails of Central Oregon, spending time with her family, or taking on overly-ambitious DIY projects.
